they fit! i was nervous they would not but 295 is probably the widest we could do on a 2nd gen with no mods to wheel well.

odd though one side sits higher by half inch.  my driver sits higher is this normal?

also im surprised it sits so high even with hotchkis suspension i could proabably go one inch lower and still have room for suspension movent before hitting the outer inner fender curve part.

Let us know how it rides, if you get get a lot of rubbing. A 45 profile tyres seems a bit high imo.

Nah man.  I can now personally attest that 45 profile tires are just right.  Personally, I wouldn't go any taller, though...

they are not even tucked in the wheel well so I have lots of clearance vertically, but horizontally it was scary i did not think I could get it in there, but I had to jack up the car higher than normal or the sides of the wheel came close to hitting it it, but once in and tucked in there no issues horizontally.

Like I said 45 series is probably highest I would do with a 20incher it shows alot of sidewall alot more than most I have seen with rims in the 20inch range.

You and I are probably one of the few that put a 45 series on a wheel bigger than 18".  I don't think I've ever seen 18" or larger sporting more than a 40 or 35 series...

As of right now I have 285 40 20 on rear and 255 45 20 up front.  :2thumbs:

Looks good!  Ready to see it outside!

I ran a 295 45 18 on the rear and it rubbed every time I hit something.  Put the family in the car and it just rubbed all the time.  I now have a 285 40 18 and have zero issues.

do you remember how much of a fap you had bewteen fender and tire? the ones i saw and read about that rubbed were the ones who wheel was in the fender.  i still have inch one side and 2 inch another.

Good fit ,nice looking tyre as well
with the ride height measure your front  you could need to snug one torsion bar up a touch, better adjusted with driver in car for measurement first as car will always have driver , with you sitting in it get some one to quickly measure at all four wheel arches on flat surface and see what comes from that

I had plenty of room side to side.  Where it rubbed was that "hump" Chrysler put in the B-Body wheel wells, so it was basically the top of the tire which rubbed.  I also had the car lowered with 1.5" lowering blocks, now I just have 1" blocks.

A full tank of gas, my fat ass, my wife and my baby girl and the tires would just grind. The 285 40 18 works perfect.  As a side note I run a Nitto 555 tire with a 18X10 wheel with 5.5" backspace.

I realize this is a bit easier with the parts on a workbench, but has anyone tried to convince that hump to go the other way with a nice mallet?

Uh oh.  Guess I'll find out if I have the same issue at this evening's cruise...

This was a discussion before on the main Charger section.

When we put new quarters on my 69 Bee, we cut those out of there. I considered doing the same to the Charger. Take a Dremel with a cutting wheel and cut them out.  Cut out a piece of sheetmetal to fit and epoxy the patch in.  After it dries, hit it with some undercoat, no one would ever notice.

3-M makes an epoxy which is used to hold on quarters instead of welding them on, it will work perfect. I would be afraid beating the wheel well. It may bend something you may not want to bend or even crack the paint.  If you cut it out, you know nothing will bend.  Just make sure your gas tank does not leak.  :icon_smile_big:
