I bought anew brake booster last year sometime, when I got it I didn't know that the push rod also came with it. Well I open the box up and found a metal tab bolted to the booster. When I started to remove the bolt I noticed at the time the tab being push towards me. I manage to move the tab to the side to see what was behind it and it was a new push rod. Well I got my old booster off the charger but I have a issue though. I can not get the old push rod off to put the new one on. It has a spring at the top with a metal cap with the rod going through to hold all the stuff. How do i got about getting that cab off? I tryed with a pair of plyers pushing down hard to the point where the stuff that is twisted around on the head looses up but I can't get the stuff to twist around though as that spring is down right strong to keep push down not to mention to use either hands to twist the cap around to the slot where the stuff would come off then. I asked afew friends of mine and they have no idea how to get that cap off either. I would like to finally get the new booster and stuff on the car if I could get this issue solved.

Please put some photos in, what year car, I'm trying to picture it but why can't you use the rod that is there? (just don't want you to mess up your new part)   :scratchchin:
