Having just come across this thread a little late, here's my thoughts.  In re-reading the post, he originally asked for comments to support clubs and enthusiasts.
I agree, the Charger naming of Omni's and Magnums is/was a travesty to the brand that was "Charger".  So many posts on this thread capture this point IMO quite well.
I'm going on another tack.
How about "the Company" (whatever it's called) take more ownership in the Historical aspect of these great cars.  Things that will help club members (many of which are restoring/ preserving/ promoting the classics) to preserve the value and "mystique" of our cars.  Such as:
>How about an "official" registry and historical service?  I personally would like to be able to dig into the history of my car without paying an arm and a leg.
>Active sponshorship/ participation in Regional Mopar meets/rallyes.

I'm new to the Mopar club scene, and to this site.  Maybe this stuff already exists?

Bill.

Just my thoughts.

Bill,

Welcome to the site.  You bring up a bunch of good points.  Every other car company out there has a huge data base of info and paper work for historical purposes.  Chrysler really does not have much except for Chrsyler historical which, I could be wrong, but, I heard stopped releasing info with the stuff that they did have.    Ford has something called Marty reports, Pontiac has every piece of paper on file for your car that you need.  Corvettes, same thing.  Buick has everything in microfiche except part of 71 which I heard got either lost or stolen.  Something to trace the history of our cars would be invaluable.

Just to correct, Corvette information is missing for many years. I have a 69 that I can get absolutely no information on from Chevrolet. Due to a fire in one of the records buildings. Dont know how many years and models of Chevys it affects.

On the other hand, I have a Studebaker Golden Hawk that I easily obtained all original paperwork for, for a small fee. Something like that from Chrysler would be fantastic.

Scott,

It was great to meet and talk with you on Saturday night.    Glad you got some good input from the forum...  even with all the negativity.    You certainly know your stuff.   Rick was greatly impressed - it was the best part of the trip chatting with you.  Thanks for showing us the pics from your trans-American Challenger trek also.

Hope you had a good time in the big city.   Come on out to Carlisle and/or the Nats if you can.

I hope Mike chimes in here too

Hello to the Mopar Community abroad.

I wanted to give you all a brief update on our quest for capturing your feedback towards the Dodge brand; specifically Challenger and Charger.

Your responses have been overwhelming, to say the very least.  The passion displayed by forums all across the net is most impressive.

Due to the sheer quantity of responses, it has been nearly impossible to respond to each individual post.  For that reason alone, we let the messages collect in mass and have just finished combing through them.  Not a single word was passed over.  In fact, responses still continue to surface.

The fan base has spoken very clearly as to what they truly desire.  Glaring patterns have been established amongst the hundreds of replies we received.

That said, it is now our job to report your intelligence back to those who asked for it.  All we ask for now is your patience.

This may be our last update for a little while, but that is not a bad thing.  Organizing this material and presenting it takes careful planning.  We are as eager as you all are to share this invaluable information.

And, by all means, if you have further input, share it!  Email me directly at SRV@EVENTSOLUTIONS.NET.  The offer to speak in person also stands as I will be at Auto Shows in Detroit, Washington D.C., Chicago, and beyond.

Thanks again for all your thoughts, and have a Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Scott Vandekerckhove

SIDE NOTE SPECIFICALLY FOR DODGECHARGER.COM...

I want you all to know that we received the largest amount of feedback from your site.  Hands down, you were the most vocal group about how you felt.

It is no secret that I have taken quite a bit of scrutiny on here, but that's okay.  Your passion for the car you love runs very, very deep which is wildly impressive and admirable.

Please understand that my blanket forum posts were only done out of necessity due to the volume of responses.

If you can have an ounce of faith in this process, then I would be most grateful.  If you cannot, them I am still very grateful.

We push forward with the best of intentions and hopefully we can have an impact soon.

Thanks again to you all here at DODGECHARGER.COM!!!

If you would have slapped a different name on the new charger, say like "dart" you would have no idea that it was meant to look like a modernized charger. The new charger is a total acquired taste.

How about free t-shirts, hats and jackets for real Charger owners (with proof of ownership of course) to get the real image of Charger back out on the streets. Show the younger generation where real performance was and should be now and reawaken the old crowd.

We want more approved parts the most don't we? You would think if someone wanted to make nice "correct" parts they would be happy just to "let" them do it not attack them and get all greedy about the money with fees and such!  :scratchchin:

Either make the parts OEM, or let somebody else do it without interference.

I think we all agree that the 4 door charger was a shocker so I recon it's time to do it properly all you have to do is incorparate the three cars below and you'll be ona winner.
