Could you switch the bodies on a 68-70 Charger and a 68-70 Coronet?

Ghoste

Yes, not in an afternoon, but yes.

Foose could also give it an awesome 2 tone paint job too!! :eek2:
Does alot of stuff have to be changed for them to fit?

Ghoste

It's the same floorpan, undercarriage, drivetrain and basic shell but the roof is different at the C pillar and obviously all the exterior panels.  What is it exactly that you are planning to do?

ACUDANUT

All true, but with different roof's and such, why bother ? :scratchchin:

Im not really planning on anything, I was just out golfing today and that thought came out of left field, so I figured, "hey, people on the Charger site will know" and you guys didnt fail me! ;D

The 1960s Mopars were all unibodies.  There's no easy "switching bodies" on any of them.

You could theoretically turn a Coronet into a Charger if you went to the same kinds of lengths that it takes to turn a 1st-generation Camaro into a Firebird or an early Comet into a Mustang.  Strip it down to the undercarriage & firewall & roof bracing, then get a welder and reskin that framework with the other car's panels.

Not that it matters but I don't think the first gen Camaro-Firebird is overly difficult.  There is a lot of commonality in the sheetmetal with a virtually identical "under the skin" structure.  Or at least that is the deal according to a clone artist around the corner from me.  He has created a few "genuine" 69 Camaro Pace Cars from Firebirds.
