well i started the charger up for a warm up cycle ..<new oil pan gasket> while it was running the battery positive post touched metal.....<no front clip on car so no batt holddown> anyways ...big spark,,,and it killed the motor...it also took out the voltage regulator ,,,im really hoping that was it ,,as i now have no spark...would the voltage regulator kill the spark...?? this is a built up 440 with the msd 6al box some kind of racing distributer..electric fuel pump etc...i really hope i didnt cook the ign.box ...getting new vr tommorow...

i guess my question is if the voltage regulater is bad will that take out the spark? dumb question?i dont know?please help! thanks in advance

no, voltage regulator is only for the alternator to tell it when to charge
