has anyone tried this in their 8.75? for the price seems to good to be true,  any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Ran one in my old jeep with a 8 1/4 rear. Worked great for traction, but was a bit loud in parking lot turns.

would it be worth saving 200 bucks over the detroit locker?

if your looking to save a few bucks and alot less work, drop in the power trax. I an mine over a hundred thousand miles on and off road and it never broke. If you can deal with the quirks of a locker on the street you will be fine. If you want quite and smooth, find a limited slip.
