I'm probably a lot more Scottish than Indian but I don't plan on wearing a Scottish kilt or Indian headdress anytime soon. I'm sticking to the old jeans/t-shirt/baseball cap scenario.

I have a couple of friends that are part Indian. One of then is one quarter Indian, and he says that is the least amount that can be recognized to receive any benefits.
I dont know if that limit is a government thing, Indian thing, or tribal thing.

His dad used to be a member somewhere near Buffalo NY, but I cant remember which tribe.
I believe he has a card that exempts him from all sales taxes.

I always used to rag him about it. I told him I could never understand how he can get benefits for being 75% NOT Indian.

BTW, he's a great guy, but he's really, really strong, and has a very bad temper.

Dont know if that's an Indian thing either - lol.

My great-great grandmother was Cree. Being that far back in my blood line, I don't really count it. I think most people that have a blood line that goes back any real length of time in this country have some in them.

Khyron

Im from the slapaho tribe.

common, someone had to be "that guy"

Blood quantum requirements are set by each individual tribe. As sovereign nations, the tribes make the decision on who is a citizen.
