What do you guys do during the winter with your battery ???
I went to Sears today,,,,and bought a DieHard Battery Charger Maintainer......to keep the battery charged up thru the winter....it shuts off when the charge is adequate,,,,and turns back on as needed.....
I used to remove it every fall,,,store it in the basement,,,,and put it back in the spring...
Now that we are in Kentucky,,,,and the winters arent quite as harsh,,,,,I might be able to get it out once in a while....so would like to leave the battery in it.......
It was $29......

I've got 2 of these; http://www.batterytender.com/
They work awesome. They keep the battery at 100% without overcharging & boiling all the acid out. Just plug 'em in, walk away & come back in the spring. ;)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

beacause it sits, I been usein one on my ride for 20 + years,.. has come in handy a couple times a yr for sure... mine has lasted all that time, has a 6 volt and 12 volt setting and is indispensable, though i also have the newer portable style one too, which i can take along... and have needed twice this yr..
They didnt name 'em "Chargers" for nothing,.. Alterntors, Batteries, Ballast Resistors, Iights/Switches and the highly variable Low Charging levels (particularly at idle) are always at issue, especailly for us "non-stock" folks... nothing is more the drag then turnin that key and hearing "click"...  :icon_smile_blackeye:
anyone gotta good headlight switch?..  :P

MichaelRW

I use mine year round to keep the battery "topped" up all the time. I do that because I only drive it every few weeks.
A Fact of Life: After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF.........

I assume there is no down side to using it.........ie,,,i can just let it run all winter long,,,,without any worries ?........ looks to be self sufficient.........  :yesnod:

i have one mounted in all 5 mopars. i keep them pluged in all yr long. i haven't bought a batt in 8 yrs. since your keeping your batt fully charged and warm they last alot longer.
plus i have 3 bikes on one charger in the garage. just don't run the car with it on. i was told thats not a good idea.  :shruggy:
I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.
