5.7 Hemi....cost: One meat lovers pizza!

So in other words, the 5.7 and the 6.1 are different critters, not like the 383/440 head swap.

I think I'll stick to the 5.7 head...it's already paid for! Now I need an intake. I see the 5.7s in the new Challengers are made out of plastic.
I wonder if that set-up is optimal?

all the 5.7s use a composite intake - one form or another...      the 6.1s use an aluminum one

you may want to put off buying an intake until you know what kind of hood clearance you will have. I have a truck 5.7 in my 96 dakota and the LX intake would be for sure too tall to fit under my hood. Also, do not use that resonator intake box, it is way restrictive. This pic shows how low the intake can be with the truck intake. I ended up changing the intake around because the filter was hitting the hood. Now I have a 90 degree elbow where that filter was, a 4 inch tube over to the pass side, a 45 elbow and the filter ends up sitting rite behind the pass side head light
