Just booked a 3 day trip with my father to see the B-J Auction in West Palm Beach, FL this April 1-3!
We originally were booking the hotel, flight & rental car through Expedia.  The car was going to be a Hyundai Accent.....SCREW THAT!!!   :slap:

Used my AAA discount & reserved us a bright yellow Corvette Zhz convertible for the three days!!   :drive:

Very cool that your doing that with your Dad. Four years ago I visited my parents in Englewood, Fla. My Dad and I did a three day road trip to Daytona and caught some of the races. It was awesome. I'm sure you and your Dad will have a great time.

Nice to see you are spending some quality father - son time together.  Too many people take stuff like that for granted until its too late.  Luckily, I have a good relationship with my father who is very much into cars also.

My Dad's passed on to hang out with GOD. I wish we would have had more time, especially since I have my own child now. I do and hope Julie and I can have a VERY long life together and share many many things.. I want to show here the world. Man, I'm getting choked now even thinking about her. Luckily, her being 3, I have a long time to do that. Now it's up to me, Daddy, to stay healthy so she doesn't loose her Daddy too early like I did with mine.....

Enjoy West Palm and if you can, head East on Okeechobee Blvd, over the intercoastal and continue to where it ends, at the Atlantic Ocean on the island of Palm Beach. It's where the very well-to-do of South Florida live, ie. the fomer Kennedy compound, the Trump mansion and many many more aristocrats. Palm Beach is like the Beverly Hills of South Florida. Worth Ave is like the Rodeo Drive of Beverly Hills. At A1A, where Okeechobee ends at the beach, turn right (south) and make a nice slow, gingerly drive. On the left you'll have the blue waters of the Atlantic and to the right, the beautiful homes of the island. I used to take my former 318 '68 Charger and '70 six pack Charger R/T down this road all the way to Ft. Lauderdale each and every Sat. to Neba's, the greatest cruise spot in it's day.

Enjoy..

Hey Chris, you should auction the Vette while you're there so you have some extra cash at Carlisle this year.

:haha:

Definitely looking forward to this with my Dad.   He's turning 70 this March as well.  Last year we had a scare with him....had to have open heart surgery to change out one of the valves in his heart & repair a section of his main aortic vein.  All this started because he felt faint one day at the gym (yes he went to the gym 3x a week & jogged 5+ miles a day 3x a week  )   I can only hope to be in his good of shape at his age.

He's fully recovered now & has started to jog again (under doctors supervision of course)

I really think he's more excited than me....he called me today like a little kid telling me he "got the tickets" to the auction (they came out on line today)   Much cheaper than the Scottsdale Auction I might add...
