Out of the corner of my eye I saw ORANGE...

I turned around and walked up to the show room to see.....

Very cool car!! He had a couple of things tucked in the back, but I couldn't get a good enough shot (it was around 11PM, they were closed)..

Anyways, it's either his personal car and it's being stored there "on display" for the winter or it's for sale...

Boy howdy, Chrysler dealers will do just about anything to attract loyal customers back to buy their sh*t vehicles...Start building/selling new cars that resemble that Cuda and you will get your wish Mr. dealership... :2thumbs:

This guy is different. Only jeeps are sold there, but in this show room he's got bikes, classics and a lot of cool stuff, including a cool vette.

I work for a place called the Cobalt Group( www.cobalt.com )  We handle everything dealing with car dealerships.  Websites and making changes to them, Inventory, domain transfers, users and employee account set ups etc.

Our biggest account ironically is with GM, 5000 dealerships or so, but we have Hyundai, Kia, Chrysler, VW, etc too.

You would be suprised at how many dealerships have some kind of old car in there used inventory.  Most of them in the south, and the west coast.  One dealer ship last week had a sweet 68 Camaro Convert for $12,000, some have street rods, 50s trucks, a month or so ago a Ford franchise had a 62 Dodge 330.

If any one wants me to look for something i can check around.

The Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer that I bought my 2009 Challenger from in Ringgold, GA is one of the biggest dealers for Vipers in the country.  He gets some unusual cars in from time to time.  He had a Superbird a few months ago.  Of course, I went down to see it.  It was in the little showroom they have.  It had a 440.  It was interesting to carefully go through the car and see all the stuff that's the same as on my 69 Charger that I'm working on.  He occasionally gets other makes of muscle cars in on trade.  No telling what will be there.  It's the kind of dealer everyone likes.  Small, friendly, honest, located in a little town.  In fact, exactly the opposite of most of the big dealers I've been to.  Irreguardless of what Chrysler thinks, smaller is actually better.

Unfortunately, a lot of those dealers sucker their elderly owners out of the cars.

A year or two ago, a local dealer took in a beautiful, low mileage, 67 GTO convertible, from an old guy.
Gave him $1000 because it was "so old".
Then he bragged and laughed about it to his employees.
Now I see him with the car at car shows.

People like that make me sick.

I saw an example of what you are talking about but it wasn't a car dealer.  It was a druggist.  My physician prescribed something that that to be formulated.  There are only two or three places that do that around here.  I went to the closest one.  It was a little pharmacy.  The druggist had a sign right on the counter saying he buys old cars and said they must be late 50's, 60's, or early 70's.  That kind of set an alarm bell off for me.  Now he obviously gets a lot of elderly clients---probably a lot of widows.  I asked about this guy later and was told that he scams the old ladies out of their cars and then sells them for a big profit.  Nothing illegal here but certainly not ethical.
