SO, I had already done the alt upgrade and elct ign, but now got a new harness from year one, modified for these upgrades. But can't use my previous locations. Any ideas or pics of maybe where they can be mounted? I don't wanna go drilling unneeded holes  LOL

heads are the same on both sides

but then how can the valve covers bolt up the wrong way? :shruggy: I mean they have to be reversed, not necessarily side to side, but upside down, kinda way...

Depends on the year.
Their was a bracket that you could buy they were on the bay and it would mount the ecu at the rear of the intake manifold search big block ecu bracket on the bay and you may find it.

I'm not saying "wrong way" I'm saying switched

valve covers "plant" or pattern is the same no matter the side ( like any gasket there ) so they can be installed either side. The difference is on PCV valve side and spark plug separator bracket at front... wich BTW looks a Mids 70s one.

The NORMAL setup ( what does not mean it was the only setup existant ) on stock valve covers is oil filling access in front of passenger side and PCV valve on rear of driver side.

I bet this car has right now the oil filling access is right now located on rear of driver side cover. If you switch them will get the regular setup.

( sorry the highjack )

Chriss setup is great for those who doesn't want to show the electronic upgrade. Those brackets to fit on block valley pan rails are available around, but if you ask me I preffer the firewall location and look  ;)

Well I definitely want the bracket mount, only because i dont seem to have the room over there to mount the ballast and the ecu besides, not drilling holes is a good thing. But $35 for one   :RantExplode:  oh well... guess i gotta just bite the bullet   :-\

I like Chris`s hidden E.C.U. local, but would not engine heat be a problem.  :shruggy:.

Its a slotted bracket raised up off the engine....right in the air gap under the manifold.  Cooler there then on the pass fender where I originally had it :Twocents:
