Thanks to Christer over in Sweden for sharing the second item down at this link;

I love the ad at the end.  :yesnod:

Did Landy run more than one 69 Charger?  Because that one says "Flyin' Wedge" on the rear flanks and I've never seen that before.  All the other pics of the 69 B/MP Chargers (and teh 68 for that matter) are of a Hemi car.

Cool post btw.  :2thumbs:

BROCK

Landy did a very honorable thing in 69.  He campained a 2nd Charger with a 440.  HotRod did a spread on it &
an interview with DL in which he basically explained how he could be of better service to the people that came
to the car clinics by having firsthand experience with the more popular 440.  Top notch fella all the way!!!

Then it's a shame that part of history has been left out over time.  You don't which issue of Hot Rod do you?

UFO

That car made the cover in Car Craft dec '68.
Project "flying wedge" was in a couple issue's.

If this story is true Landy had three 69 charger's.I think it's more of running the cars in different classes.
Off the top of my head I don't recall having a hot rod story.

RE the story above, I also have that story is a copy of Peterson Publishing company book on Basic Chassis, Suspension & Brakes.  It's how I learned to do brake jobs when I was about 23 (on a 69 Charger RT.) Too bad that company doesn't publish them any more, mine are falling apart.

 I can never get enough of those Landy Dodges........the color scheme is so cool !! :2thumbs:

Anybody notice the A piller trim?
I had a much nicer close up pic,but lost it in a computer crash.

Ghoste

We've talked about that little A pillar modification in another Landy thread I'm pretty sure.  Dick was always looking for an advantage.
