quotes

I want to quote only a portion of a post.  I tried copying and pasting, but it shows up as part of my reply.  I have seen others with only a portion of a post in the 'quote' area.  Can you tell me how to do this?

Nope. 

In your reply window, highlight the part you want gone, hit the backspace button, and Viola! It's gone.

There will be some quote "tags" wrapped in square brackets (these things []). Everything between the beginning tag and the end tag is what you're quoting. Be sure to leave those in your reply but you can edit any of the other text. Just delete the parts you don't need.
