I attended the Auction Thursday night.....Two Superbirds, one a 6-pak were there for a Sat. run accoss the block.  In addition there were a lot of E-Bodies, and Richard Petty's new Challenger ready to join the two Superbirds in finding a new home.  In the parking lot I saw a white Superbird....to much rain to check it out.......and speaking of weather:
We were blown away with the Auction. And, I mean literally blown away! The weather came steamrolling into the "Valley of the Sun" bringing with it blowing wind, driving rain, and to top it all off...a tornado warning. While walking through one of the adjoining tents that house most of the headliner cars to be auctioned off....security personnel came through telling everyone to vacate the tent and proceed to the main tent at once. You could see by the look in the eyes of a couple of the security people that they were really worried. I saw vendors packing up some of their items and other covering their items with plastic. You could see the tent structure actually moving quite a bit...but fortunately Barrett Jackson was shared. The same couldn't be said for the Russo and Steele Auction where they lost parts of several large tents. Large parts of the tents went flying and landed on a freeway that runs nearby, closing that roadway for an hour or so...fortunately only one person received minor injuries...the same couldn't be said for a number of cars set to be auctioned off. No word on how many and what damage was done, but I am sure we will soon learn all about the damages...
All in all it could have been a lot worst (unless of course it was one of your collector cars that were damaged).  Hope no Wingcars were involved in the action.
When I got home I turned on Speed, and as they say "the show must go on"....they were still selling cars....go figure

There are reportedly three Superbirds at Russo.    The car owners do not have access to the cars until Saturday morning.
