Can someone tell me what this plug is for that is on my intake manifold? Again this is on my 68 383 4 BBL

Ghoste

Temp sensor (for warning light version I believe).

Sixt8Chrgr

Would the intake come from the factory with that plug if your car did not have warning lights?

Ghoste

That's not on your intake though, it's on the water pump housing but the answer to your question is no.  I'm not even certain it's a warning light sensor, I'm only guessing because it doesn't look like the guage type sensor that I'm accustomed to seeing.

Sixt8Chrgr

Yea it is not for the gauge sensor, it is under this plug thing.

maxwellwedge

Is it a later water pump housing? Maybe thats for some smog sensing stuff.

From the valve cover and this I think you have a C Body motor in there.  :scratchchin: # on the id pad down on the skirt?

I cant find any VIN numbers anywhere on the motor. I have the VIN on the transmission though.

Ghoste

What are the numbers on the trans?

VIN is over by the starter, down on the skirt, next to oil pan. Stamped into the flat pad.  :yesnod:

I have looked there before and nothing is stamped there.

The car is a Dec 22, 67 build per the fender tag. Did Chrysler shut down for Christmas around that time or build right through the Holiday?

If your engine was built in 1967, look for the stamping on the back of the engine at the top edge of where the bellhousing attaches to the block.   Look straight down on the driver's side behind where the intake manifold attaches to the head.

I have that on my Charger, I always thought it was something to do with my A/C.

Is this the stamping location for a Charger?
