How will these fit?

I am thinking about running these wheels on my car

I want the 17x10.5 on front and back with 315/35 17's. The rear I am not worried about because I am going to open up the wheel wells and run a custom width axle. Its the front I am asking about. I am not worried about it clearing the fender since they will be fiberglass and I can flare them out easily anyway, I just am curious if that much tire will fit in there and not have any interference with the suspension, brakes and frame. The rims have +27mm ofset which is 6.83 BS

I do have a pair of junk 315 40 16 tires on the way that I am going to use to see just how much I have to cut to fit em

I think 255 is the widest i have seen anyone go on the front of a second gen...         The front wheels are going to be difficult - backspacing will necessitate spacers - the rear will need the axle narrowed so make those wheels work

Well they also have these wheels that I like in the black center with mirror lip in the 17x10. http://www.wheelreplicas.com/scwheels.html Their offset +20mm and I figure I can bolt on a 1 inch spacer max if necessary to get the front to work.

Quick performance will be providing the custom width rear axle. It can be built to suit any width I want. They are $615 for the housing and shafts with bearings in a semi float version. Ill throw a back brace on it and my own concoction of a disc brake kit. Then I wiil do the 4 link thing.

Why not just go with the 9" width in the front?  The back spacing will be closer (although it's still too much) and you can still run a 295 width tire (still too much for the front IMO).

Good price on the wheels.  I'd be curious about the quality when you get them.

Yes, but they'll need work - spacers and/or a brake kit that pushes the hub out like Doctor Diff's. Depending on which one you like, the American Racing Torque Thrust M is the same style wheel but comes in a whole bunch of offsets. There's another Mustang wheel maker that has a better selection but I can't remember which. I was going to run them on my Barracuda but I sold it.

You are probably thinking of American Muscle. I will check out their stuff to, but I cannot rite now. Im at work rite now and the laptop I got has a filter on the web so I cannot get to a lot of the popular sites like ebay, craigslist, photobucket(which sucks because I cannot see most of the pictures you guys post unless they are attached to the thread).

I checked on the Torq M's and it shows 3 different offsets, but its not specified what exactly they are. At least not on the sites that I was actually able to open up. After going thru them, I am really leaning towards the 2nd set I posted above, the SC replicas. Ill keep checking around to find some other wheels I may want, but $125 for wheels that I really like is a great deal. I will keep looking to see if someone else has that sytle in different offsets and will prob end up getting a pair at first to see if they will fit the front. If not, they will go on the rear and I will need another pair for the front

You doing a auto cross car?  I would be concerned with radius or amount of turn you could make before hitting the frame, etc.

Fenders you can do like you said, seems to mee that maybe getting close on the back side?

Yep, sort of. It will be hitting the local road race course. I just like the idea of the wheels and tires the same front and back. I think the mondo slicks and skinnies have their place, but I just want to see 315's on the front of my car. I love doing things that no one has tried yet, I have lost count with which number this one would be
