Ok.  My mirrors need sandblasted... I want to remove the glass/pivot assembly... I can see there are two screws behind the glass but I cant get to them with a screwdriver... how the he** are you supposed to take the mirror apart?

Never been able to figure that one out myself. I've always assumed the factory must have installed the mirror glass after the rest of the mirror was assembled.

Yeah thats kind of what I am thinking... Guess its not a must... just would make for a nicer paint job on the mirrors...

They could be blasted with the glass in there little more care would be needed but not much. Just lay them faces down on some carboard. With a nut on the stud hold with vices gripps and have at it.

Could all so be cleaned up with a DA and 220 grit. If real ruff might start with 120 grit. May have a little hand work but how tuff could that be.

Yes it is possible remove the glass and plate assembly. All you need is get completelly at sides the glass to get room and remove the screws. You can try better with a L shaped screwdriver, but is possible do it with a regular one.
