That looks and sounds like Craig Adam's project. He and Howie were building similar cars. I have Howie's nose here and it looks just like that one.
The price isn't out of line considering what he has gathered up for the project. I would love to have the tranny for my bird.

The "weird" looking firewall is in the style of what Nichels did when they built the race cars.    He is trying to get the coil spring A body style hood hinges in there as well.  What has not been done is the cowl induction air intake at the top of the firewall.    Overall, there is some value there for what you would seem to be getting parts wise.   If those are NOS wheels as stated, there are guys with genuine old race cars looking for them.  They are not easy to find.

is the price right for a project like this....?? wonder if he would be open to trades?? :popcrn:

Many of the parts that he has are quite valuable. That real Daytona wing would be worth quite a bit. The headers are the real deal as well.

GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Howie

Thats Craigs car alright. He has something coming up he needs the money for and that is college for his daughter. He says if it does sell he will build another later. If it doesnt he will finish it. We got together on the same page and bought nascar parts. The suspension is old nascar as well as the motorplate and stainless headers which was bought from cotton owens.  The goal is to make it just like the real thing. Old school nascar but driven on the street. The motor has been on the dyno and the wheels are just like what was run back then. You cant get those wheels anymore. I am still trying. The nose is 18 ga steel. If you want old school nascar you cant go wrong.

Lots of time spent building and acquiring parts. A lot of very neat parts.

I'm guessing a some of the parts are only good for high RPM use, like the headers. As noted before, the Cotton Owens/Buddy Baker show car from '70/'71 that recently sold had a small carb so it could be driven onto the trailer for shows.

Is the tranny a dodge truck/van 4 spd. from the mid '70's? To get them to bolt up to a scattershield all you have to do is modify the retainer or have the scattershield opening machined ( I've done this before).

looks like the bidding ended and no buys...so what is the true value of this project in todays  :scratchchin: economy??
