Is this the correct linkage for a 68 with floor shift console?

I have a 68 and it came with the linkage in the first picture.  However, the book shows the one in the second picture.  Which one is correct?  I believe the second is correct.  Does anyone have this?

I just put in my tranny in my 68' and I can tell you that pic 2 is correct.

I have tried pic two, but it will not allow me to adjust the linkage correctly.  The rod that the adjuster tightens onto is too short.  If I use the one in pic 2 it will not allow me to shift into 1st gear.  It also throws off the rest of the linkage so that the neutral safety switch will not function.  Any thoughts on why this is?  Is there someplace else to look to gain more adjustment on the rod ?

Correction: After carefully studying my service manual it looks like pic 2 is out of a Dart, the shape looks identical to the one on the Charger but a little different. Do you happen to have a side view of the linkage (Pic 2) so we can put this to rest? If I have a chance I will take a pic of the linkage on my car and post it tomorrow.

Here is the pic of the linkage on my 68'. Be aware that I have a manual valve body so no kickdown linkage.

I can't make out the actual lever, but when I try to install mine the adjustment is all the way to the left of the rod and will not catch.

Before I intalled it I had the trans in parking and the shifter in parking. Intalled and tightened the control lever with the swivel assembly on the trans, then slipped in the rod on the swivel assembly then hooked up the other end of the rod to the torque shaft with the corter pin. All I had to do then was tighten the rod with the bolt that is part of the swivel assembly. How long is the rod that you have? The rod in my car is 10" long. When in Parking your lever on the trans should be all the way to the right, if looking from top turn all the way counter clockwise. The lever in your first pic out of the book is not like the one in my car, the one in my car is like your second pic. I know that this pic that I am attching is the same as your book but just wanted to show you that my car has all the same parts except for that lever.

I measured the rod and it is 10 1/2" long.  I need to get out and check everything from up top down to the transmission to see if I have something not adjusted correctly.

I figured it out.  The upper portion of the linkage had been tweeked at some point and was a little off.  I removed the upper bracket and put it back in the right location and the adjuster lined up right in the middle.  I just need to do a little adjustment tomorrow when I have another set of hands to help and another thing checked off of the list.  Getting closer to the maiden voyage.  Hopefully it is finished before it snows.
