First off , thanks to skip68 and shakey . When i even thought about taking out the heater box i was like " awww helll nawwww" I was scared. But it wasnt that hard. Sorry i didnt take pix every step of the way but will fill in the blanks when i re-install everything. But first i took out the console. Then dissconected battery.  i disconnected the battery. Then did the glove box liner. Then i made note of where all the cables went and how they were attached.

When i unhooked the cables, theres a screw on a clip that holds the cable down. But up under the dash the screws wernt there i guess prev owner left them out. it is a bitch getting in there so i see why. And since the system worked fine , i wont re-install with screws either. But after the screw is out i used  a pair of pliers to grip the edge of the clip, and pull out and up and it will swing out like on a hinge.

Labelled where the cables went.

The end of the cables have two disk lock washers, Sheet metal washers.

Made note of where the hoses went.

Then i went to the engine bay firewall and removed the water hoses to the heater box, then removed three bolts that hold the heater box on. then i went back into the car, under the dash and pulled the box out/ I took a big cardboard box and put it under the heater box to keep it from falling since i was alone.  The trick to get it out is to turn it on its side. to get it out. Then swing the far passenger side toward the passenger seat while swinging the drivers side toward the front of car. Then pull the thing out.

Then youll run into a heat shield. I went to the engine bay and passengers inner fender well to remove the plastic keepers. Then I bought some chiclet gum and started chewing it untill all sugar was gone. Its cheap gum and gets very sticky when all sugar is gone.

While i chewed i cleaned the heater box a lill bit.

The gum is sticky and i used it to make a mark on the firewall to show me where to drill. I broke the gum up into four pieces and stuck it to the firewall. Then i took the MSD box and put a level on top of the box to keep it level. Then i pushed the box into the gum and removed it. The screws on the back of the MSD box left indentations in the gum. Now i knew where to drill. I just driled right through the gum. Then installed the MSD mounts laced with locktite and silicone .

Then i mounted the box to the mounts. Finished!!! Well,,, just on the install, i still have to put the heaterbodx back in but im in no rush because theres a extra hole there from the factory and i figure it would be a great location to run some wires to go to a special accesory for my car. And im not talking about the horns. I already have them installed.

Ill cover the distributor and coil in another post. Hope this helps somebody.
