Can anyone tell me the markings that should be on a orriginal factory 440 magnum 375HP cam. I supposedly purchased a NOS one but do not no how to authenticate it.

Are there any part numbers stamped or otherwise visible anywhere on it?

The cam has behind the distributor drive gear stamped 45. Also right infront of the last bearing journal it is stamped B and directly across from this is
2 1. There is also a yellow band of paint in front of the rearmost cam lobe.

None of those numbers or markings mean anything to me, I was just hoping they had a partial or full part number.  If the "45" is a part number, it's not from a year I have info about, sorry.

Maybe John Kunkel or someone else can help out...

To my knowledge the factory cams had no identifying numbers, the yellow stripe sounds like an aftermarket thing.  :shruggy:

If you could find a known good original cam, a micrometer would verify the lobe dimensions.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

What was the rocker arm ratio for the 440 non adjustable rocker arms?
