Oil pressure gage not working??????

Ok, first thing i checked with a mechanical gauge and lots of oil pressure. The gage does not move at all, if i ground the wire it will max out? The dash gages are completely rebuild and the wiring is new from front to back. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Oh. new sender also.

If grounding the wire sends the gauge to pegged,you have a faulty sending unit.
