I don't know if this is old news but i read a few things on the web (so it must be true)

What I read said that they are planning a 4th mad max movie but without Mel Gibson.   It's not james bond where everyone's ok with some new dude every few years.

I'd be pretty disappointed if they make this without him starring in it.  Not that he's such a great actor or anything, but it just seems wrong.

I thought I had read that he wasn't interested in it...

It'll suck worse than the last one, but when it comes to HBO I'll probably watch it anyway.

That third Mad Max movie, Beyond Thunderdome, was a joke. The movie studios realized they can milk another great idea & simply ruined it. The two things they did that annoyed me most were, one.... they completely removed the cars from it, which were probably just as important as the characters & the biggest reason that the first two Max flicks were so good, & two.... they turned it into a political message about how nuclear wars can be as bad for you as smoking cigarettes.  ::)

The only decent part was seeing Tina Turner in a skimpy outfit.  :D

Although, using Mel Gibson does force a certain timeframe because of his age.  They might not necessarily be wanting to do a movie taking place 30-40+ years after the end of all civilization.  That world was on a path to just get weirder the farther out you go.

The animation idea is goofy.  It might be interesting but it doesn't belong in the same DVD case with the original movies.  The gritty mechanical mojo of the originals wouldn't be there.  The first two movies really made you blurt out "did they just kill that stuntman?!?" a few times.

I don't mind having Ah-nuld sit out any further Terminator movies.  The CGI job they did with the recent one was great IMHO.

A.S. was perfect for the role in 1984 and even in 1992, but in the 21st-century that guy is just not a threatening figure anymore.  He's still got the muscles but the guy's whole public image is too ingrained in us.  We've spent too many years watching him play good-guy roles and generally living his life outside the movie screen.

:shruggy: I don't think I ever saw her in a baggy sweatsuit, but I better do an image search & see what I can post.

These look kind of baggy & non-skimpy for Tina.  :D

Tina, the queen of butterface.

maybe when she got older and started sporting the mop hair / femullet look, but I've seen some pics and film clips of her from the late 60's / early 70's and she was pretty hot.who knows tho...maybe it's my thing for black chicks... :shruggy:

I imagine she looked better in the face back in the 60s.

Here it looks like she's got Eddie Van Halen's head on her body to me
