I just got my guages back from being refurbished by A1 - 68 charger rally cluster - they did a great job, but now my oil guage is electric.  The old one was mechanical. I'm not sure what is stock....  Did the hillbilly I bought the car from switch it from electric to mechanical, or if it was always mechanical in the first place ?

Car is a 318, so I was hoping maybe someone on the forum could shed some light on where (or what wire) the electric oil guage hooks up to ?

I couldn't get a hold of A1, but will try again next week.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Stock you had a oil pressure sender in the engine with a gray wire on it.To gauge powered supplied by the Instrument Voltage Regulator. If you have a mechanical gauge you have no sender .You tap into the oil pressure fitting on the engine with a metal or plastic hose line to a mechanical oil gauge for a reading.Which is most accurate :Twocents:
