in my 73 (360), I had to replace the distributor, (got a reman) I put it in, got the timing set to 5*BTC, it runs good now driving it normally, but when you get on it, it hesitates, sputters..... any Ideas on what to check, adjust, etc.???

Thanks,
Jason

Assuming that you have an electronic unit, make sure the air gap is .008.  It could also be your vacuum advance is not engaging properly....I believe there is an allen wrench adjustment in the vacuum port of the distributor for that....Others  hopefully will chime in on the adjustment for that one because I'm not too sure....I don't even have mine hooked up.....does better without it.

Check where your vacuum advance is hooked up to.  Should go to the port high on the passenger side of the carb.  Not to a manifold port.  I see alot hooked up wrong and they run nasty!

Hey from what I went through re-man dist. are crap! I bought 2 and they were both bad, first one...grab the rotor and move it around back and forth side to side, any play/slop....my air gap was constantly a variable, second one...twist the rotor to feel the advance movement, any binding/hang-up spots, it should move smoothly all the way. Next use a timing light and by running the rpms up map advance, you will get a feel for your curve. I gave up on it and paid for new MoPar one....sweetness!(better mileage than ever too!)

Could be my problem......it had a reman in it when I bought the car, infact didn't look that old (still clean) Im gonna try some other suggestions, if that dont work I think Im gonna get a new MP one too.

Timing issue?  I've had to play around with mine a bit to get it just right.  A weak coil can cause some hesitation, but I second the Mopar dist.  They work great!

Found the problem....bad coil. It had a MSD blaster 2, so I checked the website to find out what the resistance was suppose to be, checked it with and ohmeter, showed it was bad. I had a new one from Autozone in my shop, so I put it on, and the car is running 100% better.
Thanks for all the input and suggestions,
Jason
