I sold an item on ebay, and in the auction i clearly state that payment must be made within 24 hours.
No response from buyer, so I send him like 3 emails reminding him to pay before a certain date/time or the item will be relisted.
No response.
So I offer a 2nd chance and luckilly the other bidder still wanted the item. So I sold it to him and filed a cancellation on the 1st bidder.
Next day after it sold, they Deny the cancellation and pay for the item (still no communication).
The item is already on its way to #2.
So I have refunded them the payment and emailed ebay to remove the final fees (good luck with that).
So why do people think they can treat you like crap, do what they want and expect you to still sell to them??

Same thing with me,I put only ship to US.,one of my auctions ends, winning bidder....Canada!!!
I usually paypal immediately after I win an auction, but you having your payment due 24hrs after auction ends is rather quick,no?In my auctions I put 7 days for payment,as some people still like to send by mail.

I give 48 hours for payment OR contact.
In this case I looked up the "Company" buying the item after, and see they have a really bad reputation for faulty goods, non refunds and non contact.
I just hope they cant leave me feedback that will mess up my 100% (theirs is marked private - wonder why)

i had a guy buy something from me last year, had it in hand for over 3 weeks (sent signature confirmation) and then said it wasn't complete.......after 2 emails trying to work something out he filed on ebay and then (after!) sent me an email about how he'd really like to work this out yadda yadda....well, when I sell something on ebay I put feedback right away because the buyer lived up to their end of the deal, so this guy gives me the first and only negative feedback i'd ever had since i joined ebay in 2002......and then ebay sided with him without giving me any explanation why they thought he was right and i was wrong, paypal froze my account until the full amount of the refund was in there, after more searching than i even cared to do I discovered there was absolutely no way for me to talk to anyone about it.  On top of that when the a$$hole sent the item back to me it was in worse shape than when I shipped it, and everything I sent him wasn't in the box.  Ebay didn't answer any of my emails regarding this.......and then I stopped using EGay.
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

Although you have clearly stated your payment terms,  it's probably not realistic to expect every buyer to pay within 24/48  hours.    Stuff happens.    Life gets in the way.    It is one thing to state you require "immediate payment", but if you enforce it to the letter and offer it to the second buyer right away, you risk complicating your life.

With a potential deadbeat buyer having all control of your feedback, realistically, I would not think about offering it to the second bidder for a week after the end, even with immediate payment required.   If the buyer doesn't pay, open a non paying bidder dispute and it usually resolves fast.

I won't even consider selling on ebay anymore since they've made it so difficult to the occasional seller. If I have parts to sell, I've listed them on this site, Moparts, the Cuda-Challenger site, & sometimes craig's list. I've had all good experiences as a buyer on ebay, but I bet 50% of the stuff I listed as a seller was huge headache because of deadbeat buyers & ebay screwing up a bunch of my auctions.  ::)

I'm happy to report I really haven't had any general problems with selling on ebay.  Been doing it since they started. :shruggy:
One person didn't pay me, I gave them negative feedback and they gave back to me and back then I was to stupid to have ebay remove it so after all these years I still have it.  :brickwall:

I allways that I win/buy something on ebay, send allmost inmediatly a messagge Tell him HI I'M THE WINER OF THE ITEM  AND blah blah blah... simply introducing myself. If you ask me, comunication is the most important on this. Being an outside bidder EVEN MORE IMPORTANT.

Usually I go crazy when I don't get some reply from seller

Ebay has become really bad for sellers. A few years ago, there were a lot of scammers and ripoff artists selling stuff, taking people's money and sending junk or nothing at all. Now the pendulum has swung the other way, and all a buyer has to do is make one complaint and ebay/paypal will make the seller refund their money. For every crooked seller trying to take people's money, there are 2 crooked buyers trying to get something for nothing. I don't sell stuff on ebay anymore either.
