There are a few posts about this but I'm just trying to work out a few details and was wondering if anyone could help? I have play in and out with the steering shaft and i want to remove it from the car and was just wondering how to disconnect the shaft from the steering box I think that you have to remove this roll pin? I was wondering if there is anything else you have to remove or once it is loose from the inside of the car if it will pull right out? Thanks for anyone's help!!

nope just undo the bolts from inside the car , don't forget the turn signal conector plug , then just tap the pin out  :yesnod:

Just remember that the steering shaft is 2 piece telescoping held by little injected plastic tabs....don't force the shaft in or out working on it! (Do a search on this topic)  :o

Thanks for all the help :2thumbs:, That is the problem and why i'm taking it out because the shafts have been  telescoping on me. When you put it back together i was wonding if it is more effective to put a bolt in the hole or if is should just find a new pin and replace it with that?

Thanks again

 ;)
Any parts house should have the right sized roll pin. Bolt might work but be better using the right part..
Best of luck,
Eric

Do a search on this because there is allot of ways to repair it, some use nylon screws to retain collapsible function I believe.

Thanks again for everyones help! I did a search and I'm thinking of injecting epoxy into it. We will see what happends once i get it out and how it looks!
