I have a 440 Engine with a B on the front engine pad. I was told this is a 1966. Can someone confirm or discount this.

What exactly is on the pad other than the B?

Its painted and the only thing showing is B

"B" is the year code for '66 but I would expect to see more than just a B stamped in the data pad. Chech the casting date on the side of the block.
