differential plug removal

hi - having a hard time finding a socket for this type of plug - tried numerous other tools and cannot get it off - is there a specific tool i can use to get this off??

I used a 12 point socket (I think 3/4) and many extensions to get outside the car body with a breaker bar.  Mine was also very tight took alot of grunt to move it.:

the square end of a 3/4" wrench worked for me, first time it took a mallet on the wrench, after that it was as easy as an oil drain plug...

I just a great big adjustable on mine.  I've had to give them a whack with a hammer in the past too.
