I think this is one of the cars:

Plus it kind of answers the question about the crazy guy coming up to you saying his friend's cousin's aunt's brother has one of those 71 superbirds with a hemi six-pack  :smilielol:

Please don't hate me for saying this,
but those cars look great in their own right.

I wonder how much modification to a Daytona or Superbird wing it took to mount to third gen rear quarters.

I also wonder if they modded a nose to fit, or had to do a one off for each.

Does anyone know that level of detail on them?

mauve66

for the multi tiered wing they made it from mopar photos of the original mule car, they did the measuring by relating it to everything else on the car to get the scale right, the plain red superbird wing i don't know about

The wings are completely different and were made from scratch. The bases were completely different since there are no flat areas on the top of the quarter of a 3rd gen. The blades are longer as well. Seems like Mike at Dayclona mentioned that the angle was also slightly different.
We set one of our Superbird wings on one of my 3rd gen Chargers and quickly realized that it would take a lot of modification to make it work. I have a set of fiberglass uprights partially mocked up but it never went any further than that. I just have too many other aero projects to take the time to build the 3rd gen stuff. Maybe later.

i've never liked the nose on that red car . the aero looks upside down to me  :Twocents:
