What shape are the tail lights in?
I did both tail lights for my 71 SE and my 72, but they weren't in bad shape. I cleaned them, sanded them with 400 grit, taped off the openings for the lights and sprayed them. Both tail lights were Argent Silver. I picked up the spray cans at Carlisle from Totally Auto. (The nozzles on the spray cans are junk).

tricky lugnuts

Plastic polish on the lenses does amazing things if they have any "hazing" on them.

That coupled with some fresh paint on those Rallye taillight housings ought to look pretty sweet.

I'd also recommend making sure all your wiring is up to par. Now's the time to do it. Clean up the light bulb sockets, coat them with some dielectric grease, and put in some new bulbs. Make sure your lens gaskets are in good shape - you don't want water getting in there every time you wash your car.
