The ND concealed carry permit nowdays is a joke. Provided you have a clean background you are all but guaranteed to get it. If you give me a call one night i'll tell ya some more about it.

This is known as a "Shall Issue" Permit process. It is the way every state should do it. Period.  BTW- I sent that TQ out yesterday.

I love my 40 caliber, Walther P99.  It fits extremely well in my hand and although its a lot of plastic (like so many new sidearms are these days), I'm very happy with my "James Bond" gun.

Personally, I prefer my phaser. I usually set it on stun (for legal reasons), unless I run into a Gorn. :icon_smile_big:

For carry protection, a firearm is useless if you leave it at home.   Out of my 15 or so handguns I carry a KelTec .380 seven shot when I'm out and about.   Double action only, accurate and lightweight.   Fits in my back pocket with no holster and is invisible.      Yes, keep it chambered while you carry it.

My choice also.  You can forget you have it on you because it is so lightweight.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

Wow, that would be interesting not to even feel as if the gun weren't there.

Taser is expensive and not ideal for home protection.  They shoot two barbs out that separate one foot for every seven feet travelled.  So if the guy is 10 feet away and your aim isn't great, you're going to miss him with one of the barbs.   Stick with the spray or the gun.

Telvis is right about his gun recommendations...Airweight...yum.  Baby Glock, simple and cheap.

I say the shotgun. It is large and if the intruder sees you they for sure will see you are armed. And it also makes the distint cla-chink noise when loaded. A very powerful deturent within itself.

I would also suspect that if you do shot somebody, it will be much easier in court. "I got scared sir, and pulled the ole hunting gun out of the closet".  "I didnt mean to shoot that house robbing bastard 5 times in the head at 2 feet, honest".

As opposed to " Well I had this hand Cannon of death and destruction saved up under my pillow, and was just waiting to use it."

Im no lawyer, but to me it seems like you would have a much better defense.

In many areas I dont think you even need a license to own one.

Again thanks to all who replied and thank you for sharing the wealth of information you have not only shared with me but, the board as well.
