Buddy of mine is having issues with his 440, I guess on startup there is no oil and he has to loosen the filter a bit and retighten to get it to prime.  After warmup his pressure is dropping low as well, anyone have any ideas?  Thanks

Matt, did he use the priming rod with a reverse drill before initial fire-up ? It could be a cracked pickup tube (sucking air) or possibly a stuck bypass. Excessive clearance in the rotors will also cause low oil pressure....how old is the pump ?

Ron, I got this info second hand so I will try to get some more specifics.  I will ask him about these possible causes.  Thanks!
