Work in progress i have the links for the pictures but i dont remember which is which. So ill be moving them around a bit.

Its been a while, im glad there are still some familiar faces around.

All the sites i had my story/restoration seem to be gone now, and i see my name has popped up here and there so i figure why not start over here  ;)

I got my Charger in 2003 i drove it daily until i graduated in 2004 when the original 904 let go. Sometime during 03/04 i found the old, old site (i still walk to the mailbox and think my t-shirt is gonna show up  )

Charger:
1974 Dodge Charger
2-Door Hardtop
Originally 318-2bbl, 904, 8.25

Pics from '04

After the 904 let go the car got torn down (mostly) and i started cleaning up

After shuffling around living here and there, starting pre-med at Wayne State Univ and stuff the car sat in the condition of disassembled and dirty (don't they all though).

Sometime in 06 i met up with Dan (his last name escapes me) who lived nearby, was worked for Chrysler R+D who helped me plan out a low buck turbo 318 setup.  If you remember the thread (it is gone from all three sites it was posted on sadly) it was based on using inexpensive turbos from a 2.2/2.5 Turbododge.  Sadly i do not have any pictures from the mock ups and planning from it, they were lost with that thread  :'( .

That summer a found a '66 2-Door Newport (with electric windows to boot) in what could be called a barn that donated its drivetrain that would go into the Charger.  Having found this i decided to get rid of the Small block stuff (still have some unsold stuff lying around.) and persue a turbocharged big block.  Most of the 318 sale went to funding the 383 (naturally) and it went to the machine shop to get all measured up.  The 383 needed to go 60 over to clean up, and the forged crank needed to be turned to be useful as well.  While i was deciding on what to do with the 383 i started collecting the part to turbocharge the big block and have it all fit in the Charger.

Pics from the 383:

Main Caps

Block

Forged Crank

Rods and Dished Pistons

About a day after the engine builder called, my dad calls me and says his friend is getting out of the mod-bogging scene and is selling his truck and spare parts.  As much as i wanted to buy the truck (worthy of its own thread   ) i picked up his spare 440 and some goodies.

After getting the 440 work slowly got done to the car ( it still needed body work on top of all the drivetrain work still, i was too busy being a kid to get very far mostly on anything   )  the body work and engine work came slowly on the weekends.

Fast-forward to end of 2008 until now.  It has been 5 years since i have driven the charger and the longer it goes the more it drives me into finishing it.

Current Specs:
1974 440cid 7.2L V8
Worked Open chamber heads (Will edit with specs i am having a CRS moment)
Torker Intake
Holley 850 VS (Modified for boost, again will post specs when i dont have CRS)
9.5:1 Flat Cast Pistons
Recon LY Rods ( i think LY is it, whichever was the better than the basic ones but still a stock rod)
Cast Crank
Hedman Shorty Headers
Mopar Mini Starter
440 Source Vac Advance Distributer
Optima Red Top (the only think i have left from my Spirit  :'(  )

1966 727 from the Newport mentioned earlier
Shortened Driveshaft from said newport
Original 8.25 Rear soon to be replaced with the 8.75 from the Newport.

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

Those are two names its nice to see again.

Rolling Thunder i still remember your thread from the old old forums when you first got your car =).  I think i remember a mopar crate engine being part or it?

Skip: Sadly the big turbo/Tial Wastegate/BoV are all gone now.  I just got rid of my 2.5 Turbo Spirit and it gave me the turbo bug again  :2thumbs: so i may start collecting again, its been a while since i have researched everything, but the torker/carb/mild cam are all interchangable with a turbo setup.......  :RantExplode:

Rolling_Thunder

Indeed...   it had a 318 / 904 combo when i got it...    about a year later i swapped in a MP crate 360...       then a 383...   then a 440...   then a 512...    now a 6.1...     haha
