BLUE68RT4ME

I work in the engineering world, using 2D and 3D software all the time.  I have my own copies too and thought it would be fun to have or make models of these cars.  There are so many things you could do.  I'm sure others already are.  Anyway, anyone got any idea?   :shruggy:

The guy from the UK did some amazing stuff, and the drawings are really cool.  However, what I'm looking for is an actual "solid model" in IGES, STP, SLDPRT, or other file format.  The guy from the UK hasn't been on here for over 14 months.  I don't think he could actually give me what I'm looking for anyway.  I don't believe that what he did is "to scale".  His renderings are put together from pictures, not actual dimensions... as far as I understand.

I'm looking for legit CAD solid models.  Even if it's only parts of it.  I'd hate to have to go model every part of the car.... could take a couple days!   :smilielol:

Hi, 'The Guy from the UK' here  :icon_smile_big:

My 3D Charger was modelled in 3DS Studio Max. It was to scale as far as it had the correct wheelbase but that was about it, the rest was all guessed from photos using proportions rather than dimensions as I could not find any decent line drawings (aka 'blueprints') at the time. It is a true 3D 'poly' model that could be exported to various different file formats but it is not truly dimensionally accurate so is probably of no use to you.

Sounds like you'll have fun making a true scale version. I really enjoyed doing mine and you lucky guys who own Chargers were very helpful. I've moved on to other projects but I'll revisit the Charger and render it some more one day.

Hope you find the information you are looking for, good luck with your project.

Kindest regards from England, UK :2thumbs:
