I've got the dics brake set up off a 71 charger & i'm going to put them on my 69 charger. Its says here http://www.moparaction.com/tech/archive/disc-main.html
that on pre 70 car with sway bars the caliper interferes with the sway bar.
Is this true ? Any one out there thats put 71/2 b-body discs on a 68/9 car with a sway bar. Did you have any problems ?

no i have not done this but have heard & seen the problem ,
i have a set off a police spec ( so im told ) :shruggy: with graphite pistons , been meaning to do this swap for 20 years :slap:

think the common fix for this is to swap spindles side to side , so the caliper is now behind the disc , as apposed to infront ! be carefull of the  rubber brake pipe routing though :yesnod:  might need to mix & match ones with a section of steel pipe ..from a late 70s car

terrible one

I think we have the same setup . . . I went with the spindles from a '74 Charger and '71 Challenger calipers. You can't run the Charger calipers because the brake hose attaches on the bottom and will hit and keep you from being able to turn/ thrash the end of the brake hose. This is why I went with the e-body calipers because the hose attaches on the side. Anyways, I did as tan top suggested and just swapped the spindles from side to side making the calipers rear mounted. I am using '74 Charger rubber hoses for this as well and they look like they'll be fine.  :Twocents:

Thanks, anyone else have this problem ? The more replys the better as i'm in England i cant try E-body calipers (super rare to find),  also is it ok to swap spindles side to side, i've read dont do this.
Also where the best place to buy discs & pads in the States ?

Hey Mopar Muscle has a great article on line called "Disco Tech" It will set you straight on what works and why, when ya figure that out check with "RockAuto" online seems they had good prices for parts that you will not have to return cores on.  :2thumbs: Good luck!!
