Hey gang..
It was brought to my attention the difference in pressure between the Carter pump M4862 (8_to_9.5_psi) and the polished M5903P (6_to_7.5_psi). The 4862 looks more like the OEM unit. Now, are there any hemi owners out there now running the OEM-lookin' 4862 pumps on there factory cars without problems? Or, did you have to install a regulator?

Thanks..
Troy

I think mine's a 4862 and my only problems are the carbs could use some dialing.  No problems at all.

Ooops you said factory cars.  :slap:

Mike..
Thanks.. The spirit of the question you hit dead-on.. I was looking for "stock" hemi applications.. If it works for your Charger, I shouldn't have any problems then....  :2thumbs:

I was trying to beat someone else to the punch.

Tim Banning mentioned a regulator cause the 650's supposedly don't like too much pressure IIRC.

Even though mine's considered a tribute car, I've tried to keep it stock appearing nixing any regulator idea.

The 8 psi pump is too much for a carburated application....definately needs a regulator. The Carter "race" pump has been known to exceed 10psi. I've run many 6psi 120gph Carter street pumps with excellent results.  :Twocents:
