Correct gauge for floor boards?

I found 18 gauge rear floor board replacement panels for 50.00 per side on eBay. Is that a lighter gauge than stock?

Sounds right in the thickness. 

But be aware - half the cheating on the steel in repro panels is in the alloy content of the steel itself.

Any suggestions? AMD? I'm a steel framer I know what you mean.

I haven't tried the AMD stuff, but everybody seems to agree that it's a serious improvement over the Goodmark & other existing stuff. 


I've actually held some Classic Body Design quarter panels in my hands, and it was absolutely as good as the 1960s originals.  But as far as I know they're not in the floorpan business.
