are they any good? we are thinking about buying a 440/485HP engine for our Satellite and these fit the budget perfectly. It will be used as mostly a street engine with occasional trips to the road course.

Price is nice.  Not that it can't be good - but that always makes me think....
Nice job defining cam sound with vacuum.

How about some horsepower #'s and dyno sheets?
Sounds nice to throw out some names but I would ask for the details on the block and the parts that go in the engine you want.
More often than not in life - you get what you pay for.

I thought that looked high but then I noticed they are all dynoed.  I'm not sure what that is worth though, especially if you don't get a sheet with it.

I would think you could get a local shop to rebuild your shortblock, then you get Eddy heads and a cam of your choice and save some money over this deal.  Doesn't look like they are going to touch the heads, if I pay that much I would want them gone over.  I think Hughes is selling them for about 1800 right now and they have been gone over and touched up.  They are good out of the box but a little TLC helps.

Oh and these guys say they want a core charge so be sure to investigate that

BlaineKaiser450

ya ive got a core that would be pretty hard to restore in our garage and thats what started me looking at crate motors. are there any other good crate motor brands like Indy and such?

Where are you located at?  Driving to get it yourself will save a ton.  We should be able to find a known Mopar shop near you.

Rolling_Thunder

I have discussed a couple things with these guys and they seem to be pretty good about their knowledge...     I was talking to them about getting a short block for my 318 Poly ---

I would give them a call and specify your concerns about getting a dyno print out - also ask for what cam they use and all that jazz...   You will be supplying a core that they rebuild from the sounds of it - find out if they need a complete long block or just a short block core...   considering they will be giving you edelbrock heads...        they may not need head cores - maybe they want them to offset the price of the E-heads...

I'd give them a call and shoot the breeze with them.
