on the RV2 rebuilt service questions I got two diff PNs

on this thread I got Nachi brand is 308GS1-2NSL

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,40733.0.html

But on this thread another diff PN was posted: BRG 6205J

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,52186.0.html

Dos look that this week will be MANDATORY to me change it. When engine is cold and Compresos ir off I got an annoying noise, that simply stops when compressor is engaged. Then when engine is hot, the noise is considerably less noticeable, but still there, that once again stops when compressor is engaged. So definitelly Compressor bearing is claiming to be replaced.

which one is the right PN to make a local search on local Timken stores ( or whatever brand provides locally )

Two different numbers because the threads are discussing two different bearings, the first thread discusses the bearing in the clutch (number taken directly off of the bearing) and the second one discusses the crankshaft bearing in the compressor.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Ok, well I was having doubts about that because I could see on first thread I began, Pete replied fixing his issue with the clutch being unjoined instead the compressor/crank itself

just learnt yesterday, by a friend of mine who is a mechanic that Timken only makes conic bearings and no ball bearings like the one the Compressor could have...

Timken and Fafnir are the same company, Fafnir makes the ball bearings and Timken makes mostly roller bearings and not all are conical.

The base number of the bearing is 308....this sets the inside (40MM) and outside (90MM) diameter of the bearing, all of the other digits/letters further describe the width, number of balls, seals, etc.

at the end found the bearing in Nachi brand but 30BGS1G-2DS

Dunno the differences but fit perfect. If somebody is able to tell the diff on specs by the PN will be great to learn about.
