I need some new tires for my 26ft trailer because the sidewalls on the 225/75/15 GoodYear Marathons are cracking and two have gone flat over the winter. I'm sure the UV expose has contributed to their early demise. I will be purchasing some tire covers when the new ones go on.  :2thumbs:

The current Goodyears are a load range D and i'm looking to upgrade to a load range E for added load capacity and insurance. The D's are rated at 2500lbs per tire while the E's are rated at 2850. The PSI rating also jumps up from 60 to 80 so this is a definate advantage, inmo.

So, anybody running a load range E in a 225/75/15 size ? So far my research has shown that the Maxxis ST radial is the preferred tire with the RV crowd.

Good question - I need tires too (although for a much smaller trailer).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Ron, i use Denman on my 22' enclosed trailer that i haul my 69 6-bbl RR . and i replaced the Goodyears on my RV 30' with same tires. only co in us that make trailer tires. they are out of Ohio. every where i checked the tires were made in china including good year. my original good  years were made in Canada but Goodyear moved their trailer tires to china.when i talked to denman they were building on to expand the trailer tire plant in Ohio and are now making the tires in Mexico.most all trailer manufacturers use the cheapest tires the can get away with RV, enclosed and open.there are manufacturers in other countries but most are junk.

We are looking to replace our tires as well.  Just ordered replacement Goodyears from Tirerack.com with the factory load range D.  Our tires seem to be original and the trailer is about 10 years or so old and just starting to show dry rot cracking in the bottom of the treads as well as the side walls.

Thanks guys.

Jerry, i hear the Denmans are now made in Mexico just as you said which is a shame. Apparently Cooper makes a load range D 225/75/15 but i'm looking for the 10 ply E's so that's out. Cooper is American made from what i've been able to research.  :2thumbs:

Most RV'er's have good things to say about both the Maxxis and Denman tires but one guy has a set of both on each of his trailers and stated that he would be replacing the Denmans with Maxxis when the time comes. One is a boat trailer, the other a 5th wheel camper. For some reason he likes the Maxxis tires better....he's had a few problems with the Denmans going flat on him....and he's had multiple sets of both brands  :shruggy:

Still not decided yet but i'm leaning towards the Maxxis due to the overwhelming positive feedback. Seems that trailer tires are a grey area with companies switching manufacturer locations all too frequently. GoodYear is a good example....now made in China while previously made in North America. Gotta LUV this Global Economy thing....where's the freakin quality control ?  :eek2:
