Hello Charger Forum!

We are working on restoring a 73 Charger and as noted by other posters, there just ain't nothing like 30 year old wiring to get you excited!   Actually, my concern is, as everyone investing time and effort into restoration doubtlessly is, fire.

So... I am looking for a resource in terms of everything related to wiring: From new/replacement wiring harnesses to books and diagrams.   I know we have some specific things to address but I'd really like to get to know the "lay of the land" as it were (and right now, I know next to nothing!).   I'd appreciate referrals of suppliers, part numbers, urls, whatever ya got!   Heck, I'm even game for a trip to the local library if that's what it takes!

Thanks in advance!

Best thing to do is get a factory service manual. Pick up some Mopar mags. Mopar Muscle and MCG (mopar collectors guide). Lot's of ads in them for parts and assorted goodies. Somewhere on this website I believe is a list of suppliers for NOS parts and reproduction parts (including wiring harnesses).

Evans wiring is a great source for new wiring harnesses

Thanks for the tips.  I visited a few websites, and specifically on yearone.com, I saw "Factory Service" under their literature and pubs but didn't see a specific one for the 1973 Charger.  I am checking with Haynes to see what appropriate publications they offer.  Year One offers harnesses, but I was surprised at the pricing for replacements, just seemed a bit on the high side.  I'll give Evans a call a bit later today.

Again, thanks for the advice. This project is like pulling a thread on a sweater... but you all know, it's a beauty.

Bought mine from this place.

A bud, also has a hard bound service manual, that I use sometimes. I'll ask him where he got it. But, he's had it forever.
I used to have a handle on life....but it broke off.

Thanks for the tip Monstruo.  It's great to get all these links.  For some reason, it looks like the chargerfever.com site is unavailable now?

Btw, we did get ahold of a Factory Service Manual but the CD version is taking forever to arrive :-(  [/color]

It took awhile for mine to get here, also.  But it was worth the wait.  I've used mine so much I'm surprised it's not worn out. When I'm working on something specific, I print off a copy, to use in the garage.  Did all my electrical, that way.

Hey Nacho, Thanks for the offer.  I hear you on the options issue, and I'm sure I will have some questions in the near future.

I "made" all the wiring on my car... when I say made is not really MADE the wiring, just remove the old tape searching wire by wire every burned area, replace terminals and damaged wires, etc...
