How can you tell from the VIN that a 69 R/T Charger is also an SE?

The vin number doesn't tell you, you need the fender tag.

here is the car's broadcast sheet. Just looking for what to look for to spot an SE for learning purposes.

FYI: the pedel dress up. (chrome rings around the pedals incl. the E-brake) is a dead givaway.

Yes it is, A47 means your car has the S/E package and so does your VIN.

And this is a list of what the SE package content (a copy of Chris' site : http://www.1969chargerregistry.com/default.htm )

$161.85

Wood-grained dash panels

Pedal dress-up
Deep-dish wheel covers
Light group

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Another way to tell if you don't have the tag is to remove  the roof inside sail panels.  If the car is an original SE the 2 holes punched ( or drilled? ) through the sheet metal will be there.  If it was a non SE car then there would be more holes for the longer CHARGER  script.  I know, after I spent 30K for my site unseen car that was across the country, that is the first thing I did, and I'm happy to report :2thumbs:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

The VIN doesn't tell you that its an SE. The fender tag and the broadcast sheet both spell it out.

The A47 signifies the SE option. If the interior hasn't been changed out another give away (excluding the above mentioned options of pedal dress up and such) is the leather seats for the front.
