Issue 101? I think(July '96) A '70 K-5 Hemi Super Bee titled "Killer Bee". Just built a '69 Q-5 Charger and flipped it on EBay.  ~Steve~

That Q5 Charger looks great. I have been wanting to put together a Q5 Charger 500 for years now, that gives me the motivation to actually do it.

Since my scratch building skills aren't good enough to make a console, I used the stock console with some add-ons to get a close look (not too close but close enough) to the one in Mr. Angry. Same goes for the rear seat. I need to do another layer of carpeting because as you can see, it's a bit chunky in one area. I have more pictures of other progress but I'll post them when I get home.

How about Bare Metal Foil for the bumper - after the filling & smoothing?

Nope.   Too hard.

Spray it with Alclad and be done.

That model is looking good so far, I like how you are doing it. Making the hinges isn't that hard after you get the hang of it. The trunk is easy kinda, the hood is as while, it's those dang door ones that kinda get ya at times with the interior tube walls.

I found a place online that can strip it and re-chrome it for $3.

The seats came from a 1:25th diecast '70 GTX. The bottoms and backs were attached weird so I unattached them and then glued them back together after paint.

So....there is a set back regarding the build. I left the body out for a while on my model desk. It was a sunny day a while ago and I decided to leave my windows open to air out my room. Well....I guess one of our cats jumped in the window and decided to land on my model desk. Stuff was thrown everywhere, some of my thinner jars got knocked over (thank god onto napkins so it soaked it up), parts went everywhere and some how, the stripe on the model got a chunk ripped out of it and some of the paint got scratched. So I have to re-paint it and get a new stripe

I just built that kit with my 3 year old grandson today. (okay, he chose the wheels.)

Those seats are STUPID as they are in the kit. (and the "engine" does not fit in the engine bay - I had to file down the edges and it's still not quite right...)

Good plan to separate them and glue them back together. They look good.  


Sorry about the set back, but keep at it.

DC-F...usually diecast kits have fitting problems. It's quite common

I'm going to go unmask it right now. I put our names and the date on the deck lid, then I masked everything off and clear coated it so the writing wouldn't wipe off (it's not paint).

Here it is..

the idea was to spend a quality 30 to 45 minutes and have something special to share at the end.

it took almost 30 minutes to fit the engine in and it's still not right... but oh well.

I wrote our names on with a gold ball point pen that my had kicking around. It wiped off rather easily. So, I masked everything off and sprayed the deck lid with some Krylon Crytsal Clear.

"bumpa" is a name that stuck when my oldest grand daughter couldn't say grandpa...

I took the seats from that exact model. I also took the rollcage and fire extingusher for a '71 Charger race car. Looks good! Nice guitar too
