On second thought, dated or not, there's still a ton of information available on this site.  I'm thankful that it's kept alive and all this info is still here. I would like to have gotten an answer from the guy that started it to know whether he saved his transmission or not.  Either way, it prompted me to finally replace my numbers-matching transmission with a different one, just in case.  I have it most of the way installed and look forward to testing it. A friend of mine said he rebuilt three 727s, which all failed, so he returned to paying someone else to do it as needed.  We'll see.  Thanks RD.
