wrong year but i prefer have a 68 lee instead of a modifier 68 vin into a 69 car.... when i will want to resell it.. my car will be a 68 charger withh all components... the next owner will be own a 68 straight charger... if he doesn't want a lee....

so i like my car like this:) i have builded it with my taste... anyway arround 50% of the charger use in the serie was 68!!

I totally have no problem with it. I'm a firm believer of doing what you want with your own car and a firm believer in the more Mopars rejuvenated the better. I love the way GL's look '68 or '69.  Just from reading other posts on here , i knew there would be some wrong year comments.

Before anyone starts throwing "hater" bricks at me.. The car is beautiful. Great job on the finishing work! Now, why does anyone make a general lee out of any car other than a 69?? Its just wrong. The general lee was a 69, no one can argue that. This is one of the most iconic cars ever made, and I think you are confusing the general public when you take a car that is close, but clearly not correct, and try to make it correct. May as well use a 85 daytona IMO. But, great finishing work non the less.

I guess my new signature could be " Confusing the general public since 2008" (70 GL)

Nice car, it turned out awesome! Enjoy, you will have more fun than you can imagine.  :2thumbs:
I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend

Let's not start this one up again.  There was just an entire multi-page thread about this car discussing the 1968/69 issue about two weeks ago.

The television series cars were both years, including the cars being used for the closeup shots.  "The" GL eventually grew into a crossbreed of the two years that was closer to a '69 but had some signs of a 1968 car too.

The owner of this replica chose not to cut this car up converting it, because it was a very nice 1968 Charger already.

Good stuff - I like it.

I'm a believer in anyone who will put some love into an old mopar of any kind.  It creates more opportunities for new parts, car shows...etc.

I can only hope my kids get a passion for this stuff and want to smoke tires and not crack  ::)

I am not a GL kind of guy but the car looks great. LUUUUUUUV the '68's  :icon_smile_cool:

Car looks awesome!!

Give me a break...im willing to be hardly anyone will know the difference. People see a charger and assume its the same as the one in the movie...people have asked me countless times "ohhh isnt that the charger they had in the dukes of hazard"...its a damn 3rd gen, we look nothing alike.

ENJOY!
