That is a nice looking car!  (which is understating just about as much as can possibly be done)

They made a handful for the different shows across N. America  -  I believe they were all identical.

That car is already registered with the 70 Charger Registry.

There were a bunch of sequential V code 70 Chargers made on August 2, 1969. The ones we have full info on are all identical and were made to support the 1970 Chicago Auto Show. While we don't have full data on every car registered the data so far, based on registered cars, suggests that there were possibly 16 sequential V code Chargers...maybe more. Each car registered fills in a piece of the puzzle.

And as an interesting side note, on the last day of production July 10, 1970....they pumped out a slew of V code EW1 cars (sales bank)....maybe they had to clear out excess six pack engines and white paint  :scratchchin:

I have one of the '71 show car 'Cuda's. My understanding is all these show cars were to debut at all the large Auto Shows such as Detroit, Chicago, New York etc. - Thus the reason for the quantity.

If I asked in the past I apologize, however by any chance did you happen to see the VIN? We may have it already however if not it would potentially fill in a gap...PM me to keep private.

I'd love to own one of these cars...daydreaming.

There is a Y28 Public Relations FE5 70 Charger R/T SE with factory sunroof hidden away somewhere in or around Montreal Quebec. The owner contacted me a few years ago asking me if I would restore it for him but he vanished when I tried to track him down years later.....I strongly suspect his car was the Super Stock Magazine test car from 1970.

TheAutoArchaeologist

I actually haven't heard from the guy since some stuff went down shortly after the blog post and some people on another website calling him names.

I hope to stop by his place in the coming months, I'll let you know if I find anything out.

surmanajaja

a little off topic since there is talk about sun-roof cars here..some 18-20 years ago in Mopar Action or something was a 1970 hemi-charger with sunroof, it said "one-of four"..black with red interior I think. where is that car now, is the owner a member of the board or the 1970registry?
