My dad's 68 had the emblem on his.  I am unsure on the production date though.

Were they on from the factory though?  It seems as this is still a grey area as to what cars got them, if any in '68.

They were on when he bought it in 1970, so they could have been changed, but I do not think that they were.

Yeah probably not if they were on it that soon.  I had no idea this was such an unknown area, I figured everyone would know which cars came with these.

On the other hand, the original owner could have easily been looking at a 67 still on the lot and decided he wanted the arrows on there and even had the dealer put them on before delivery.   Hell, he could have thought it was a factory oversight leaving them based on the previous two years having them and seeing it in the brochure.  I know a 67 owner who immediately had 68 marker lights installed when the 2nd gens came out.  There's just no way of knowing without proof from day one.

Unless some posts a picture of brand new '68 Chargers all lined up at the assembly plant having the emblem I'm tending to believe it was not a factory install.  :Twocents: It is simply just another urban tale regarding the '68.  :scratchchin:

This is the only picture my dad has of his car, but you can make them out clearly from the pic.
