I never knew they put ads in local newspapers. I was at my grandma's house and I was looking at the newspaper and I saw this:

"1968 Dodge Charger R/T. Green exterior & interior, runs great, perfect condition, 440 auto $4800". There was an email. I thought "okay this has gotta be fake". I emailed a few nights ago and I finally got a reply.

"I'm glad that you're interested in my car. The car is street legal and accurate. It comes with all the documents needed for registration, it has a clear title and it can be registred into your name at any time. I am willing to sell it for $4800. This buy now price does include the shipping and insurance fees. I'm located in Carrolton,TX and the car is here as well and so this is where the car will be shipped from. I've done some research and the best and fastest way I can ship it is using Hemisphere Cargo Shipping Ltd which takes between 4 to 6 days to arrive at your door (door to door handling and shipping insurance fee included). I am affiliated with Yahoo! Finance where I have a purchase protection account for $ 10,000.00. This service allows us to complete this transaction in a manner that is quick and safe for both of us. It acts as a third party between seller and buyer to insure that both parties comply to transaction requirements and provides dispute resolution and mediation between parties. Yahoo! Finance is responsible to insure that both parties comply to transaction requirements. If this is ok with you please reply with your complete name, address and shipping address in your next email and let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about this purchase so that I can open a transaction case at Yahoo! Finance and move forward with this deal."

Yeah okay, I'll send the money right away ::)

Yup.

There was an ad in the Manchester Union Leader a few weeks ago. The pic ended up being that sublime green 68 that was in CT and on ebay a million times
lasy year.

It would be funny if it was just as simple as the scammers hating to sell on ebay like most of us do.

They are apparently hiring folks to spell check their scam emails now.  ::) Could still use a grammar check though.

If it didn't work they wouldn't do it.  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Surely since I live 5 minutes away he would have no problem showing me the car right? Plus I could save him all that money on shipping and insurance. Surely he couldn't turn that down.   :icon_smile_big:

If 4800 includes shipping and insurance, ask how much he wants if you just pick it up.

The Charger in the picture used to be about 60 miles from me!

Theoretically, this scammer might be a little easier to track down "if" he didn't use a stolen credit card to pay for the classified ad he placed.

Go pay him a visit or have the Dept. of motor vehicles and Highway patrol pay him a visit. Ask to see the car in person, say you flew into town to save time. please keep us posted on the outcome of this, it would be nice to see a scammer eat some dirt :eek2:
